Mark was admitted to the Iowa Bar in 1994 after graduating from Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence.  

While attending Drake University, Mark received several prestigious honors including the M. Gene Blackburn Award and an award for “Best Brief” in the Supreme Court Days Competition 1992 - 1993.

Mark has argued before the Iowa Supreme Court on three occasions in addition to the Iowa Court of Appeals.  He has conducted numerous Jury Trials. 

Mark is also a member of the Iowa Auctioneers Association   Mark graduated from the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa, in 1983.  He worked alongside his father-in-law, Gordon Taylor as a professional auctioneer from 1983 to 1989.  Mark conducts several Farm Land Auctions each year and has obtained prices in excess of $17,000 per acre for North Iowa Farmland in 2022.  He is actively engaged in agriculture in Hancock County.
